Paul
Van Hoesen: Workflow and Infrastructure Consultant
Paul has over 28 years experience in digital networking, application
integration, and large scale network deployment in a number of
vertical markets including government, education, medical, technology,
insurance, publishing, and manufacturing. In the publishing
industry he is partnered with Network PDF Inc. of Nashville, TN,
and its principal Janice Reese, as a workflow and networking consultant
to the publishing world. Paul has been a featured lecturer and
symposium leader in 2005 for the Graphic Arts Technology Forum
(PIA-GATF).
Paul’s former positions include
co-founder and CEO of Adept Consulting Technology Group Inc. where
he assisted in the development of the ADEPT Engagement Methodology
and the Strategic Value Analysis (SVA) which guides his approach
to application & technology evaluation and integration.
Paul was also co-founder and CTO of Education
Networks of America which won a $70m contract to provide Internet
access and web-based educational content to all public K-12 schools in the State
of Tennessee. ENA
has grown to become the largest private network provider of Internet
access to the public K-12 market serving over 1.7 million children
a day and ensures the operation educational applications to thousands
of classroom teachers.
Paul’s strength lies in his ability
to understand the market and technology forces at work in a given vertical
market and then combine workflow, application and networking lessons from other
markets to achieve a synergistic solution. Paul’s solutions
pay special emphasis to Technology Quotient of end users and their
ability to absorb new technology.
Making the result simple, effective, and
understandable to the decision-makers and stakeholders and end
users is the foundational trait of Paul’s delivery. He has taught practical
technology courses to diverse audiences and is known for his highly interactive
style and ability to make complex subjects understandable.
Paul’s foundations include nine
years of military experience in building secure data and voice networks. He
is the recipient of the National Security Agency’s Innovation Award for
cryptography. Paul also spent 5 years as a Senior Field Engineer with Racal
Datacom Ltd deploying wide area networks for the Fortune 100, and 5 years as
Senior Network Engineer for American General Life & Accident
Insurance Company.
