JDF Education Initiative
The JDF Education Initiative was created by
Network PDF, a team of experts with the same vision—to
develop content that would educate the industry with good information
about the benefits of standardization through JDF-enabled technologies.
MIS: A Guide for Managers, and JDF: A Guide for Managers
are part of a planned series of publications, events, and seminars
which will be designed to increase overall industry understanding
of JDF across all levels of involvement—from technicians
working with the technology on the shop room floor, to decision-makers
and managers.
The Guides were developed with the assistance and
support of key industry associations that help define and develop
the standards that drive change. Also, many large corporations
and printing companies continue to participate in interviews, surveys,
and feedback that truly enhance the quality and comprehensiveness
of the content in these publications.
Service Initiatives
Driving Standards Understanding
Network PDF plays a significant industry role in promoting the
role of standards in the printing and publishing industry. Chris
Heric represents Network PDF’s seat as the Chairman
of the CIP4 Content Creation Workgroup.
Bringing Together Standards Alliances
In conjunction with leading vendors and standards groups, Network
PDF is leading the publication of the “JDF Guide for Managers.” This
guide is focused on making the value of a JDF-integrated
workflow simple and understandable to decision makers and stakeholders. Network
PDF role as an industry standards enabler led to the conception
and sponsorship formation of this initiative. The guide will
be written by Network PDF and published by BRIDGS and available
in the 3rd quarter of 2006 at Graph Expo.
Brand Management Automation
Network PDF is working with a leading vendor of brand management
software, iBrams, to adapt the integrated workflow of its Adobe
CS2-based brand management software. Network PDF’s team
of workflow analysts and developers along with the iBrams technical
team in Germany are the implementation team to bring this level
of end-to-end brand management to specific clients. iBrams scalable
offering covers a client list ranging from large clients such
as BMW to smaller organizations as well.
Digital Government Initiative
Government is moving to a digital process to provide
consumers with the ability to access information and provide accountability
with new services. Network PDF is combining our efforts in healthcare
and publishing to help create digital government solutions to address
the need for creating, managing, searching and delivering content
in an efficient secure manner.
Government has a growing wealth of
information that will be available for Web searching, Internet
viewing, downloading and printing, and as document masters for
conventional printing, on-demand printing, and other dissemination
methods.
"It marks a major milestone as GPO forges ahead to develop a
robust and flexible digital platform that will provide permanent
public access to information from all three Branches of the Federal
Government” said Public Printer Bruce James.
eHealth Network PDF is working in
conjunction with the Vanderbilt Center for Better Health based
in Nashville, Tennessee to promote a demonstration area for eHeatlh
publishing and document management workflow. Adobe
LiveCycle among others are bringing their products and expertise
to this demonstration.
